Founded in 1985 by Shri Vinayak Mehta in the heart of Kolkata's Burrabazar, Vinayak Jewellers began as a small workshop dedicated to the timeless art of goldsmithing. What started with a single bench and an unwavering commitment to purity quickly grew into one of Eastern India's most respected jewellery houses.

Today, with twelve showrooms across India and a team of over 200 master craftsmen, we continue to honour the traditions passed down through generations while embracing contemporary design sensibilities. Every piece that leaves our atelier carries the Vinayak promise — exceptional quality, transparent pricing, and jewellery that becomes a family heirloom.

When I started Vinayak Jewellers in 1985, I had one simple belief: that every customer deserves jewellery made with the same care and devotion I would craft for my own family. That belief has never changed.

Over the years, I have watched daughters inherit pieces we made for their mothers, and grandmothers pass down necklaces worn at their own weddings. This continuity — this thread of love woven through gold — is what drives us every single day.

The Beginning

Shri Vinayak Mehta opens a small goldsmith workshop in Burrabazar, Kolkata, specialising in traditional gold jewellery.

1995

First Showroom

Expansion to a full retail showroom, introducing curated collections and certified BIS hallmarked gold to a wider clientele.

2005

Bridal Division Launch

Launch of the dedicated bridal division with in-house design team, becoming a destination for wedding jewellery across West Bengal.

2015

National Expansion

Opening of showrooms in Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad. Introduction of diamond and platinum collections alongside gold.

2020

Digital Presence

Launch of virtual consultations, 3D design previews, and insured pan-India delivery during a transformative period for retail.
